Late Summer Equestrian Festival

03 to 17 September 2023

The city of Esposende hosted the 2nd Edition of the Late Summer Equestrian Festival between the 8th and 17th of September.

September 8th to 10th: International Jumping Competition 1* September 14th to 17th: Iberican Cup and Portuguese Youth Cup.

The event provides professional riders with a competitive experience of excellence, both in terms of participation and sporting performance, and in the hospitality with which the city of Esposende embraces the event, the participants and their families, giving a special meaning to the sporting context.

In the pursuit of excellence, the organization awarded a significant “prize money” to the main competition events, worth €30,000, boosting a healthy competitive spirit among the athletes and thus providing added value to the initiative.

The Municipality of Esposende, in partnership with the Clube Hípico do Norte (CHN), implemented a strategy to position the municipality of Esposende as a territory of choice for equestrian tourism in the sporting and recreational aspects.

The organization of the international event is part of the strategy of leveraging sporting notoriety and visibility in the international equestrian community, with a subsequent effect of enhancing the internationalization of Esposende as an equestrian destination, through the PortugalEquestrian® program. The organizational, sporting and promotional coordination between the Municipality and the CHN has achieved excellent results, with a significant impact of these products on the local economy, throughout the year.
