
The Secretary of State for Tourism and the President of Turismo de Portugal recently visited the facilities of Clube Hípico do Norte (CHN) in Esposende.
The visit aimed to reinforce support for the development of sports tourism in the region, highlighting the importance of CHN in promoting equestrianism and enhancing Esposende’s appeal as a tourist destination.
During the visit, the authorities had the opportunity to explore the club’s modern facilities, which have hosted prestigious events such as the Late Summer Equestrian Festival, among other international competitions. The meeting emphasized the club’s key role in boosting the local economy through the attraction of tourists and high-level sporting events.
Both the Secretary of State and the President of Turismo de Portugal praised the quality of the infrastructure and the hospitality of the region, reaffirming Turismo de Portugal’s commitment to supporting initiatives that position the country as a destination for sports tourism. They also underscored the importance of institutional support for the equestrian sector—not only to strengthen equestrian sport, but also to enhance the region’s value as a premier sports and tourism destination.
